Reblocking, a new lease of lovliness

About eighteen months ago I made a travelling woman shawl, then proceedde to wear it, bandit style, at every opportunity until that sping was over and it got to hot to wear a scarf. Last winter for some reason it got very little wear, it seems I play favourites with my knitwear.

I wore it a couple of weeks ago to watch fireworks, and realised what it really needed was to be reblocked, it was all sad and curly at the edges.

A wash and some pins later, here it is (plus my nasty colour spare room carpet and something red, possibly part of the sofa throw).

The lace is all beautiful again.

I don't think I will be waiting long to wear this, the weather has turned absolutely lousy and last night there was talk of lighting the fire. I am looking forward to the knitwear, hot chocolate and fires of autumn, but it is August!

  1. I know what you mean about looking forward to the need for knitwear, but I can't believe I'm thinking about it all in August either, what has happened to the weather?!

Your shawl looks pretty freshly blocked out :)

  2. Those are very pretty colors in the shawl. The blocking part does make a difference. Like, you, I can't wait to wear my shawls.

  3. Oh it's so pretty and to get some wear out of it before blocking. FANTASTIC
