More from the bright pink acrylic pile, these are a pair of very simple fingerless mitts/wrist warmers made in a feather and fan pattern. It seems to be a stitch pattern that pops up around Ravelry, so I figured I should give it a go. It is much easier than I expected, both to remember and work.

The yarn is Peter Pan, made by Wendy, it is lovely and soft with quite a low squeakiness. The pattern is Accidental Girly Mitts by craftyLis. I am tempted to make some for myself (not in bright pink) as I was so pleased with how they came out, but I am trying not to repeat patterns, there are so many out there!

I worked them in the round rather than flat, as I was unfamiliar with the stitch pattern it took me a while to realise I could skip the K1 (or P1 for WS) at each end as that was a seam allowance.

There is no shaping, just a space left for the thumb by switching to working flat for a few rounds then back to in the round.

Those are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's hard to repeat a pattern when there are so many patterns out there to explore.
Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
I am with you about not repeating patterns. And I had a similar experience with fingerless gloves recently. Made a pair and fell in love.
ReplyDeleteI love that pattern. It gives a little flair to the average fingerless glove!
ReplyDeleteCute mitts! Feather and fan stitch is so versatile, isn't it? That was clever of you to switch it to knitting in the round.
