Make a quick tally of what colours you have used in your projects over the past year and compare it to the colours you have written about. Compare this, in turn, to the colours that are most dominant in your yarn stash – do they correlate?

Generally I like bright colours, and since I make socks the most bright colours are not a problem, socks can be as bright as you like.

 

These are not the brightest socks I own, although they do demonstrate what I am about to say about colours. 

 

I do keep going back to a dark red/burgundy shade a lot though, this one:

Blues feature a lot, but in a wider range of shades than the red.

I know those two colours come up a lot without checking, but a quick look at my Ravelry project page confirms it. I also use purples and grey quite a bit. There are a few brighter colours, but as I mentioned they are usually socks.

 

The other colour I use when I can is rainbow stripes, but those are not so easy to find.

The one "colour" I rarely use is natural wool/undyed. I have a couple of projects in it, but it is not my preference (or "druthers" if you listen to the Savvy girls podcast!).

 

My stashed yarn covers similar colours. Maybe a slightly larger range but not much. This makes sense really as I picked the yarn in my stash so, for the most part, choose colours I know I will use.

 

I guess bees love bright colours, apparently their favourite colour is yellow. I only have one pair of yellow socks, I think I should work on that.
