FO Friday- Tardis socks

Thanks to netflix we have discovered the awesomeness that is the new Doctor Who. Somehow missed it when it started, even though lots of people were going on about it. All caught up now and eagerly awaiting the rest of series 7.

Lots of Doctor Who themed goodies have been appearing, including these beauties:

Pattern: Tardis socks by Keladry B
Yarn: Regia 4 ply in royal blue, black and white.
Needles 2.25mm

I altered the pattern a bit- changed the windows, and the spacing of the slipped stitches. The slipped stitches were worked across three stitches following a suggestion from another Raveller, who had done them this way and found it gave a neater finish.

I had intended to duplicate stitch a white rectangle for the sign on the door, but am happy with them as they are.

  1. Cute! I made a pair of Tardis socks last summer for a Dr Who fan - she cried when she unwrapped them :)

  2. Love them! I'm going to have to knit myself a pair of those -- my hubby and I love Doctor Who :-)

  3. I adore those socks! I wish I could watch the series more but Grumpy didn't "get into it" plus no BBC so two strikes against me...

    LOVE those socks!

  4. haha those socks are hilarious, good job! I never really got into Doctor Who, either. I've somehow resisted it up until now (knowing that I can be super obsessive with TV shows) but I'm not sure that's been a wise decision =)
