FO Friday- Last minute spinning

This weekend the Christmas decorations go up, which means my spinning wheel comes down. To make room for the tree it has to be packed away upstairs. Well, I say packed away, it just gets moved, but it is less likely to be used up there.
I decided to spend a little time spinning this week to make the most of it. I had this lovely humbug bluefaced leicester top from Fibre East. So soft and pretty.

It spun beautifully. It is easy to see why this ia a good fibre for beginners, it was an easy spin, coming out as a fairly fine single.
I handy plied it (two ply using two ends of one single), similar to andean plying but easier. Giving me 100g of beautifully soft tweedy yarn. I have not checked the wraps per inch but it is probably about sport weight.

I would like to make a sweater quantity using this fibre, a plan for next year perhaps.

  1. That is beautiful yarn ... I never would have guessed that dark skein came from that light roving!
