FO Friday- Who likes short socks?

We like short socks!

Summer is apparently on its way, so soon it will be the season of shorts and the hand knit socks will not get outings. Actually that is not really true, this is the UK after all and the summer does not necessarily mean hot so they will get plenty of outings. (Plus I am stubborn and love my socks so will wear them even if it is hot)

Anyway, handknits for wearing with shorts. These used up the leftovers from my Far Eastern Flair socks, there was comfortably enough yarn to make both plus a blanket square or two.

I just discovered that I had not made a project page for these on Ravelry, fortunately the details are easy to remember.

Pattern: Far Eastern Flair by Stephanie van der Linden
Yarn: Knitpicks Gloss
Needles: 2.5mm dpns
Mods: worked 5rnds ribbing then 5 plain rnds. Started heel and followed pattern. No embroidery.

They are maybe a little thick and cosy for summer socks really but they are comfy and quick to make.

  1. It's great that you had enough yarn to make shorties with your leftover. I'll tell ya, we've been having some chilly nights and weird stormy days for our spring...having those thicker socks would be perfect for the die hard short wearing people.
