FO Friday- A wander away from knitting, and a square as always

Still working my way through the show entries as FOs, it is giving me time to work on some slightly bigger knitted things. This week I am sharing the patchwork cushion made for the patchwork/quilting class.

This started out being a baby sized quilt, but since I began it about a week before the show I ran out of time and used some spare squares to create a cushion instead. It is a strip quilt method, using colour sets as bought from a fabric website and arranging them light to dark.

I like the effect, unfortunately the patchworking is not all that great- there are a lot of bits that don't line up when they should, turns out I can't cut or sew straight (even with a rotary cutter). Still have all the bits for the quilt but it is in hibernation at the minute.

Of course my week would not be complete without a blanket square, bright yellow sock leftovers this week.

  1. I love the colors of the quilt square...and the bright yellow for your blanket. I need to use more colors...step away from my jewels and get into the brights. That yellow inspires me.
