Last weekend I went for a day of tootling round shops with some friends. I didn't buy much, mostly just laughed at some of the very odd things that are available. I did pick up a ball of yarn though.
And of course, with new yarn in my hands I just had to cast on something. A hat was the perfect thing.
I made the pattern up as I went along, it will be available soon. It looks a little shallow here, but when you put it on the textured bands open out.
It is REALLY hard to get a photo of your own head! And I probably should have undone the ponytail before I tried.
The yarn is Patons colourworks aran. I love the fairly long colour changes and the colours in this ball. Some of the colourways are not my thing but this one is great.
The yardage is amazing, I got another project out of the 50g ball but that will wait until next week.
Yes, taking self-portraits is a pain. I like how your hat looks. Looking forward to seeing the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThis I'm liking :D Couldn't agree more about the own headshot problem!
ReplyDeleteThe picture looks great. I've never even attempted to take a picture of the back of my own head! Well done :)
